Candidate Biography – Aaron Blackstone
Aaron Blackstone is a dedicated community member, geologist, and Vice President of the Wellington Housing Authority Board of Commissioners. With a professional background in geology and data-driven decision-making, Aaron brings a thoughtful, analytical approach to community issues — from infrastructure planning to affordable-housing development.
Aaron works as a Senior Project Geologist with Devon Energy, where he focuses on practical solutions that balance technical precision with long-term sustainability. He holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science and a Bachelor’s degree in Geophysics from Colorado State University.
Aaron is married to Kellie Blackstone, owner of Barking Blackstone Mobile Dog Grooming, a local small business serving Wellington and the surrounding community. Together, they are preparing to welcome their first child in early 2026. As a growing family, the Blackstones are deeply invested in Wellington’s future — committed to ensuring it remains a welcoming and sustainable place for families, small businesses, and future generations.
Serving on the Housing Authority has given Aaron firsthand experience with the real challenges residents face in finding attainable housing and navigating local growth. His work has strengthened his belief that Wellington thrives when local leaders collaborate transparently, listen closely, and make decisions rooted in data and compassion.
Aaron is running for Trustee to help build a community that values progress, responsibility, and connection — ensuring Wellington’s best days are still ahead.
